Sauvignon Blanc


Dr Renwick Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)
This wine reveals a softly perfumed nose - attractive aromas of fresh citrus and ripe nectar fruit. The nicely balanced palate follows with appealing notes of green apple, tropical fruit and creamy vanilla. Good texture and mouth feel.

Jules Taylor Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)
A delightful light lime colour with aromas of blackcurrant and citrus. Grapefruit flavours with lingering intensity that rolls out to a dry finish - a distinct example of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The 3rd Man Darnley Corner Sauvignon Blanc 2011 (Waipara)
This is a single vineyard wine, hand-picked and fermented with wild yeasts in French oak barrels. With aromas of passionfruit, it offers ripe-fruit aromas, some stonefruit, citrus with flinty, mineral characteristics and slight toastiness and subtle oak influence from the barrel conditioning. A lean body with a cleansing, lingering finish.

Generous full bodied wine displaying an excellent balance of fruit and acidity with a fine citrus infused finish, a portion of indigenous ferment adding depth and richness.

Kate Radburnd Chardonnay (Hawke’s Bay)
Crisp apple and melon fruit flavours combine with oaky spice notes, finishing with a creamy texture. Citrus and tropical notes compliment a textured luscious, mouth filling palate - beautiful!

Black Estate Chardonnay (Waipara)
A single vineyard wine, from vines grown organically on clay-limestone soils in Omihi, Waipara Valley. The bouquet is pretty and open with spice, white floral notes, ripe grapefruit and walnut. This Chardonnay has a rich opulent juiciness, finishing with a persistent freshness and a touch of sea spray.

Black Estate Riesling (Waipara)
A full and rich bouquet of lime, white peach, homemade lemon cordial, subtle gingernut, and wet river stone. The pallet is dense and integrated with nectarine, mandarin, and lime flavors. underlying ripe acidity persists and creates a lingering finish to this textured off dry Riesling.

The Crater Rim Pinot Gris (Omihi)
Aromas of white peach, citrus and brioche combine with a textural palate. A thread of mineral acidity is balanced by residual sweetness, to create a Pinot Gris in an Alsatian style which is true to its Waipara origins.

The 3rd Man Lough Vineyard Riesling 2010 (Waipara)
From the Lough vineyard in Waipara, this single vineyard wine was hand-harvested and fermented with wild yeasts. Made in the off-dry style, it has tropical and stonefruit characters along with secondary components of lemon and honey. Notes of minerality and a crisp, cleansing finish.

Mahi “Twin Valleys” Gewürztraminer (Marlborough)
A full, rich wine it has great middle palate and length with Turkish delight flavours and citrus overtones. The fruit characters will continue to evolve in the bottle, both filling out and giving lovely developed spicy notes over time.

Merlot

Four Sisters Merlot (Australia)
The classic ripe Aussie Merlot. Delicate fruit aromas of dark berries and stewed plums with a touch of sweet cocoa. Ripe plums and cherries combine with a subtle hint of mocha, balanced by toasty French oak adding fine tannins and an extra savory spice dimension to the classic Aussie Merlot. Rich, chewy, round and full with plenty of concentration.

Shiraz


Nugan Shiraz (Australia)
Brilliant red with a youthful purple hue. Lifted aromas of red berry with spice, ash & earthy overtones. A well structured medium bodied wine displaying ripe fruit, spicy tannins and black pepper nuances.

Mojo Shiraz (Barossa Valley, Australia)
A soft, full palate, laden with juicy upfront fruit of ripe Satsuma plums, blackberry, cherry cola and a liberal splash of sweet oak. The finish is silky smooth endowed with integrated velvety, chalky tannins and a nifty trace of black pepper.

Brookfields ‘Back Block’ Syrah (Hawke’s Bay)
From the Ottiti Estate in Hawke’s Bay, this dark red, almost black, wine has rich red hues that fill the glass, and the full palate is of plums, pepper, leather and spice.

Brookfields Ottiti Estate Cabernet Sauvignon (Hawke’s Bay)
Cherry and blackberry aromas abound. The fruit is to the fore here, all blackberry and cassis, with a sound but not overwhelming tannic structure and a divan of toasty oak for that fruit to recline upon.

Pinot Noir


HaHa Pinot Noir (Marlborough)
Stand out brambly berries with a wonderful clove and cinnamon spice nose. Rich bold black fruit and savoury spice on the palate with structured rounded tannins and a long dry finish.

Nanny Goat Pinot Noir (Central Otago)
The nose is full of sweet of black cherries and plums, with a hint of Christmas cake, spice and cigar box aromas. Concentrated fleshy fruit hits the palate, with finely structured soft tannins and savoury earthy mushrooms, toasty oak, dried herbs and cinnamon. Layers of complexity and delicate savoury flavours compliment the sweet fruit to demonstrate what makes Otago Pinot great.

BLACK ESTATE Pinot Noir (WAIPARA)
Deep Ruby hue and a deep and alluring bouquet with dark forest fruits, black plum, cherry stone, iron filings and fertile earth. The pallet is silken and open with fine tannin on entry followed by dense and supple fruit that runs across the pallet. The finish is lingering and savoury showing great power from the dense clay limestone soils found in the Omihi sub district of Waipara Valley.

Pegasus Bay Pinot Noir (Waipara)
The Waipara Valley has ideal conditions for producing complex and full bodied Pinot Noir. Our vineyard gives us an excellent concentration of fruit as well as plenty of structure for this wine. Over 40 individual batches from more than 10 clones have been fermented separately aiming to extract only the velvety tannins. The wine was subsequently aged in French oak barriques for 18 months, 40% new.

Dessert wine


Deen De Bortoli Botrytis Semillon (Australia)
Pale gold straw. Fresh lifted aromas of citrus, peach and nectarine with very subtle vanillin oak. The wine finishes with refreshing acidity that balances the botrytis sweetness very nicely.       $42.00 bottle


Pegasus Bay Encore Noble Riesling (Waipara)
This wine is rich and luscious with hints of honey and citrus fruits. Although sweet it is has a purity that provides freshness and a balance of crisp acidity on the finish similar to the Trockenbeerenauslese wines of Germany.
