The ‘Monsters’ series sees the Yeastie Boys pick up the theme started with the Nerdherder series - two beers using the same malt, yeast and brewing process but different hop combinations.  This time the hop standoff goes international with 'Yakima Monster' (a US hop combo developed by Joseph Wood of Liberty Brewing) going head-to-head against 'Motueka Monster' (a favoured local hop combo of Yeastie Boys' Stu McKinlay).  US hops are renowned for their bright citrus, peach and piney aromas and flavours, while New Zealand hops are often associated with the tropical, lemony, spicy and grassy characteristics made world famous by our varietal wines.  Try them side-by-side without fear...
